Taal Expedition

We are first of all welcomed to the clear fresh water of a lakeshore resort on Taal's outer lake, only a 20 minute ride from Arton Farms, and the take-off point of our "Expedition" to the volcano rim. Enjoy the neatly kept resort area now for a little while.........you may want to use the clean, well kept restroom facilities here, before your trip.

Or perhaps later in the afternoon, when we return from our expedition, we'll pause for a little longer and enjoy the swimming pool available for you. Or you can refresh yourself with a cool drink in the little shaded restaurant that is there in the resort.

We begin by boarding the coast guard approved, and life jacket equipped banka (shallow draft outrigger boat) for our ride through the clean fresh water, past islands and through the tilapia and milkfish farming operations, before we reach the shores of the volcano island, itself.

The small bario of Tabla, on the outer lake shore, orchestrates our journey from here. Over 500 horses, each with its own guide, take over from this point. Even if you haven't been on a horse before, the climb to the rim is interesting and exciting.

The reward when you reach the rim is the amazing view and the natural beauty of the place (However, it is remote from the usual tourist amenities!!)

The Taal Volcano Expedition is an awesome learning experience and well worth your time and energy.
